What is Career Guidance Counselling?Career Guidance Counselling can help you to explore your strengths, skills and interests. This can be useful when you are trying to choose a college course, or when you are trying to figure out what types of careers would suit you.
-
Who is Career Guidance Counselling for?Career Guidance Counselling is for everyone. I work with transition to Leaving Certificate students, postgraduate students, early school leavers, adults considering career changes and job seekers.
-
How long is a session?A session is 1 hour. I also offer longer sessions of 90 mins for Leaving Certificate students who may require more more time when choosing a college course.
-
Do you offer virtual appointments?Yes I offer online virtual appointments over Microsoft Teams, so you can access Career Guidance from anywhere in Ireland.
-
What happens in a Career Guidance Counselling Session? Each session is specifically tailored to your needs. Before an appointment, you will be sent an Interest Assessment and a Reflective Worksheet to complete. This will help in creating an agenda or focus for the Career Guidance Counselling appointment. In the appointment, depending on your needs, we might explore career options, explore CAO courses, review your CV or LinkedIn, prep for interviews, or make a plan for a career change.
-
How many Career Guidance Counselling sessions do I need?It depends. Some people only need 1 session and other people find they need at least 1 follow up session. A follow up session can be helpful when you are making choices between different courses or jobs to apply for. A follow up session can be useful when you have been offered and interview and you want to practice your interview technique.
